Reconfigure

Reconfigure is a puzzle-RPG-FPS hybrid game from one of the creators of Legend of Grimrock games and Noita. The game challenges you to think vertically as you build and fight your way through an abandoned spaceship.

Rapid acceleration causes crushing gravity which prevents you from jumping and performing other platformer acrobatics. Instead you have to solve obstacles by carrying and placing various magnetic blocks, figuring out puzzles with switches and pressure plates and reason your way through barriers that have risen as the ship reconfigures itself.

Combat prioritizes calculation, calmness and getting by with scarce resources. At times avoiding conflict can be the best option.

Develop your skills and equip your character with weaponry, drones and cybernetic implants to increase the odds of surviving in the hostile environment.

Explore hand-crafted branching levels filled with puzzles and hostile robots. Keep your eye open for secret stashes of equipment and resources left behind by the last survivor on the vessel!

Learn about the past and the present of the starship and prevent it from reaching its destiny.

Story

A starship is in the process of being reconfigured: constantly taken apart and rebuilt. The discarded parts are burned up as fuel to maintain continuous acceleration. As you enter only robotic servants and security units are roaming the halls of the vessel but you soon discover a complex network secret passages and puzzles that let you enter deeper into the guts of the ship. They have been built to be impenetrable to a robot's mind but your human ingenuity and imagination lets you take advantage of them. Can you prevent the starship from reaching its final destination?

About the Developer

Hapatus is the creative outlet for solo projects of Antti Tiihonen. He is one of the masterminds behind Legend of Grimrock -series of dungeon crawling RPGs where he created tons of puzzles, levels, game design, audio and graphics for the games. He has also worked on titles such as Noita, Control, Alan Wake, Turbo Dismount 2 and Druidstone. His first solo-developed game, Stuffo the Puzzle Bot, bears many similarities to the puzzle systems of Reconfigure.
