They’ve fallen between levels, wandered in the void, and woken up “at the start” again.

Endless attempts have left them with amnesia — they don’t remember their failures, deaths, or the paths they’ve already walked.

Notes, shadows, cryptic inscriptions — all hint at attempts they don’t recall but that undeniably happened.

Each nightmare is guarded by an entity — a spirit, a sentinel, the visage of someone they once shattered.
