About this Game

Cycle of Cinder is a roguelite card game with a puzzle-solving soul, where you solve encounters using spells. Choose between three different modes and grow with the game as the challenge and complexity gradually increase with your progress.

Solve challenging Encounters

Each level confronts you with a row of Encounter Cards blocking your path forward. To move on, you must clear them by paying their costs with limited resources. But this is not a simple resource check.

To prevail, you must manage more than just resources. Action sequencing, card effects, positioning, timing, and spell synergies decide whether you advance or fall. Every choice reshapes the board. A single move can open new paths — or quietly lock you into failure.

Use clever Spells

As much as the game is about the Encounter Card row, it is about your Spell Cards.

They are the tools that let you intervene directly in the system itself — bending, breaking, and rewriting the rules of the encounter. They allow you to swap positions, shift cards along the row, remove obstacles for a moment, generate resources, reduce costs, or transform cards into something entirely new. And this is only the beginning.

Spell Cards emerge in many archetypes, each channeling a distinct energy and playstyle. Some reward careful planning, others thrive on risk and momentum — but all of them let you shape a strategy that feels uniquely your own

Choose how you play

Customize your Loadout by upgrading your Spell Cards to defeat one procedural encounter after another in the Rogue Lite mode. Test your mastery by solving handcrafted puzzles in the Challenge Mode. Or craft your own encounters and share them with others in the Encounter Editor.

Elegant, Accessible, Deep

Cycle of Cinder is easy to learn, hard to master.

It is immediately accessible, yet its complexity grows elegantly with the player — introducing new mechanics over time that continuously challenge you to think in new ways. Its icon-driven design makes every card instantly readable, while the underlying systems reward understanding, not memorization.

The game is built around real gameplay depth — not routine execution. It respects your time by demanding meaningful decisions, not repetitive procedures. Every run challenges you to think, adapt, and solve new systems instead of following fixed patterns.
