Game Description

Give up the Ghost is a story-based mystery RPG set in a gothic industrial world.
Become the Overseer, unravel an apocalyptic conspiracy, and attempt to heal the wound at the heart of the city Forde.

Through dialogue and exploration, you will slowly unveil the truth behind the mystery that brought you to the city.
There is no combat. The game is an immersive, slow-burning, psychological thriller.

Play as the Overseer Alhart, a one-eyed wanderer with the unique ability to see through small objects placed in the hollow socket of your skull. These are your Eyes, who will guide you through the city and chime in through dialogue constantly.

Explore Forde, a walled city surrounded by a vast ethereal plain. This city was once the beating heart of the world... but is no longer. What’s more -- a terrible prophecy hangs over it like the sword of Damocles. Someday, somehow, the city will be invaded by the spirits of the dead.

You arrive in the city at the beginning of its final days… and quickly find that these last days will be your own. The locals fear you and treat you like an outsider. Not known to them, however, is the fact that you are the disowned heir to the Fordite throne. You are caught between worlds -- that of the stranger or the scion.

Through dialogue and action, you must define the Overseer's complex relationship to the city Forde. You must solve the mystery that brought you here, following the threads all throughout the city. And by the end… you will be forced to confront the source of your family’s ancient, terrible pain.
