Game Description
The era of pyramids and mighty pharaohs is long gone.
The Great Drought brought famine. Governors became insatiable traders, obsessed only with their own survival.
You are a young nomarch with one of the country’s provinces under your control. Unable to see Egypt straying from the path of Order — Ma’at — and becoming the land of Chaos — Isfet, you attempt a daring endeavor to lead your people back to serving the gods — the true and only way to continue living in the afterworld, Duat.
Building the Great Pyramid should restore the unity of Egypt, bring back Ma’at as the main concept of life, and atone for your country’s sins before the gods.
Set up workflows and witness all stages of construction — from obtaining resources to each individual stone being placed. As the one overseeing the construction, you get to realise the actual size and complexity of the task.
You can always slow down and observe the daily life of your province — from a bird’s-eye view or up close — watching people work, trade, and live in the Order created by your own hands.
Resources are the core of everything in Lands of Ma’at. Your task is not simply to obtain them, but to transform chaotic movement into an efficient, orderly system.
Build roads, create trade and production chains, analyse routes, and eliminate weak points. The better the transportation network, the less effort it takes to sustain the system — and the more opportunities for expansion and development appear.
The game takes place on a massive procedurally generated map with complete freedom of construction. Realise your architectural ideas by placing buildings exactly where you want, integrating them into the landscape, laying roads, constructing temples, and forming residential districts.
The lands of Egypt are far from perfect Order: many regions are abandoned and dangerous. You decide where to spread your influence — founding new cities, connecting them with roads, and turning wilderness into habitable land.
Expeditions allow you to explore new territories, discover rare resources, and recover long-lost knowledge required for further development and increasingly complex projects.
You don’t need to manually place thousands of houses. Instead, you define the city’s foundation by constructing key buildings — markets, main streets, temples, and recreational structures.
From there, cities grow organically. Citizens settle in the most convenient and attractive locations, build homes, and live their lives, increasing Order and prosperity in your name.
The more attractive and developed a territory becomes, the larger its residential quarters will grow, gradually forming rich and lively districts.
Great construction requires great Zeal and deep faith. In Lands of Ma’at, religion plays a vital role in society and directly affects its ability to unite and act as one.
Zeal is the driving force behind all grand ambitions. By maintaining it through development, religious ceremonies, and societal stability, you shape a civilization capable not merely of survival, but of creating wonders destined to outlast millennia.
