Game Description

Ludwig II – Virtual: Neuschwanstein is far more than a digital tour. This immersive experience can be enjoyed on desktop or, most impressively, in Virtual Reality. It brings visitors closer than ever to the world-famous Neuschwanstein Castle, from its striking exterior to selected, meticulously reconstructed interior spaces and engaging knowledge-based scenes.

Architecture, history, and atmosphere are not merely explained but experienced as space. Going beyond factual information, the application offers a deeper insight into the life of Ludwig II of Bavaria, the legendary “Fairy-Tale King.”

Ludwig’s visions, dreams, and inner contradictions become visible, along with the technological innovations of his era. These include remarkably forward-looking ideas that fascinated him, such as early airship concepts.

A special highlight is the digital access to spaces that were never realized, left unfinished, or remain inaccessible today. Rooms that were never completed due to Ludwig’s early death are brought to life virtually for the first time, offering a glimpse of Neuschwanstein as it might have been.

The application is designed as a self-contained virtual experience and invites exploration without time pressure. It can serve as a meaningful preparation for a real visit to the castle or as a way to reflect on it, and it can also be enjoyed independently from anywhere in the world.
