Game Description

MAWGATE

Mawgate is a short narrative-driven survival horror game set in the 19th century.

Maria Moore, a young woman deemed “hysterical” under mysterious circumstances, awakens inside Mawgate Asylum, alone, disoriented, and abandoned. Her husband, William, is nowhere to be found.

Something has gone terribly wrong.

The asylum is no longer a place of treatment, but of terror. Twisted creatures roam its halls, and whatever happened the night Maria was taken has turned Mawgate into a waking nightmare.

To survive, Maria must explore the labyrinthine institution, uncover its secrets, and find the enigmatic director, Dr. Hawley, before it’s too late.

Survive Mawgate Asylum

A sprawling, interconnected facility filled with locked doors, hidden compartments, and cryptic puzzles. Every corner hides answers, and danger.

  • Solve environmental puzzles to progress

  • Manage scarce resources and stay alive

  • Fight or outmaneuver the horrors within

  • Uncover the truth behind Mawgate’s fall

Maria Moore

Born into poverty and thrust into aristocratic life through marriage, Maria never belonged in the world she was forced into. Independent, strong-willed, and unwilling to conform, she dreamt of freedom, travel, art, a life beyond expectation.

Those dreams died the night she was taken.

Now imprisoned within Mawgate Asylum, stripped of control and branded insane, Maria must rely on her resolve to survive. Claustrophobic, isolated, and hunted, she is determined to escape and uncover what became of her husband.
