Game Description

Murderous Sunlight is a third-person psychological visual novel with light action elements set in the Holy Solar Empire: a society where ideology has twisted the laws of nature to weaponize memory, obedience, and Time itself.

You follow Zegg, an undead runaway slave, as he travels into an abandoned Profane research zone where gravity falters, ghosts flicker at the edge of sight, and the past refuses to release its broken-fingered grip. Part horror, part dramady, part intimate character study, the game features light combat sequences and compelling dialogue that reveals the bonds between its fractured, all-too-human cast.

This story-rich, third-person visual novel hybrid blends psychological tension, philosophical exploration, and unexpected moments of the absurd as you explore necromantic crypts, haunted wastelands, abandoned military bases, and confront the broken spirits left behind by the Holy Solar Empire. Combat appears sparingly... but when it does, it matters.

The game blends:

  • Third-person exploration through eerie, atmospheric environments

  • Rich visual-novel storytelling with character-driven dialogue

  • Psychological drama, horror, and sharply timed dark comedy

  • Light, simple combat encounters that punctuate the narrative

  • A linear story about trauma, loyalty, and the fear of becoming something more than what the world designed you to be
