Game Description

The experience ahead includes strobing imagery, sudden brightness, and abstract visuals that may not be suitable for all players.

If you are sensitive to flashing lights or visual distortions, please proceed with care.

Pentimento is an atmospheric narrative horror game set within an endless white void, where reality and conscience intertwine. You awaken with no memory of who you are and how you arrived, confronted only by a series of haunting paintings and a mysterious voice that demands your judgment.

With every response, the atmosphere progressively shifts, and the presence behind the voice becomes clearer.

The word Pentimento is derived from the Italian 'pentirsi', which means to repent or change your mind. Pentimento is a change made by the artist during the process of painting.

  • Interactive morality — Decide how you interpret each painting through dialogue choices that reflect compassion, indifference, or cruelty.

  • Dynamic atmosphere — Subtle changes in sound, imagery, and tone mirror the weight of your decisions.

  • Multiple outcomes — Your path leads to different endings shaped by your answers and the points you accumulate along the way.

  • Minimalist, haunting style — A stark white world that becomes a canvas for guilt, memory, and consequence.
