Game Description

Welcome to the glamorous life of freelance pest control, if "pests" were adventure and "control" involved smashing high-end furniture. In Project Cats & Gigs, you and a partner take control of Ava and Nyx, two feline contractors who are overworked, under-appreciated, and definitely not being paid enough for this.

Invite a friend and play together (Couch co-op style or through Remote Play) as two cats with different skill sets. One is a slow-moving tank of destruction; the other is an edge-lord blur of fur. It’s the ultimate "brains and brawn" dynamic, but with whiskers.

Communication isn't just encouraged; it’s mandatory. To complete the gig, you must cooperate to defeat the monsters occupying this haunted mansion, solve ghastly puzzles and find all hidden secrets.

Ready to start your shift? The initial playtest includes the first three levels of the game. We need you to jump in, test the synergy between Ava and Nyx, and help us fine-tune the combat and expectations for the project.

What’s in this Playtest:

  • The Haunted Mansion Gig: Explore the early stages and its unique mechanical gimmicks.

  • Core Combat Testing: Try out the asymmetrical action combat.

  • Feedback: Tell us what feels good and what makes you want to hiss at the screen.

Warning:

You'll be playing the result of a very small team working for a few months. This is far from ready. There will be bugs, there will be art assets looking off, sounds missing and weird things going on. Our goal with this public playtest is to gauge the interest of our players on this idea, and collect feedback to help shape this game and the near future of our studio.

Experience a true "brains and brawn" dynamic. Play as Ava, a heavy-hitting tank who clears paths with brute force, or Nyx, an agile specialist. Every challenge is designed for two players, requiring constant communication to advance.

Face hordes of enemies with an interconnected combat system. While you can fight individually, combining attacks with your partner greatly increases your combat efficiency. Ava can throw Nyx to hit an out of range enemy, or Nyx can hop on to Ava’s back to protect from danger. Sync your actions to overwhelm minions and bosses more easily.

Use feline logic to overcome intricate environmental hurdles. Each stage introduces new mechanics that demand creative cooperation. Progress through every level filled with traversal challenges, hidden secrets, and "Hazardous Work Pay" for completionists.

Designed specifically for a shared-screen experience, the 3D isometric camera keeps both players in the heart of the action. Stay close to your partner to ensure a successful performance review.

Enjoy a humorous, character-driven story. Ava and Nyx trade sarcastic banter about their career choices and the absurdity of their freelance contracts.
