Game Description

An Unfamiliar World

Welcome to the Yellow Springs, where a vast wastewater treatment facility processes the dead from a dark, black sea filled with unconscious souls and the things they were buried with. Pumping stations are temples, filtration chambers are trials, and the rivers connecting them carry souls, bound to the water.

You are the Lost Soul. You are Dead.

One soul wakes up. She swims against the tide, and manages to pull free. You are this Lost Soul — a hungry ghost, alone on the shores of the afterlife.

The Blind Fish is the Key

On the shore you encounter a golden fish, its eyes being pecked out by ravens. You fend them off, pick up the fish, and tie a strip of cloth around its wounds. This act of care binds your souls together.

Guide the Fish To Advance

With a drum scavenged from the shore, you must escort this blind fish through a system that exceeds your comprehension. The Blind Fish cannot tell you where to go, but keeping it alive and in water is the key to navigating this unfamiliar place – just be careful not to fall into the water and return to that deep sleep...

Everything Around You Contains a Clue

These unlikely companions embark on a journey to escape death — navigating the vast machinery of the afterlife, befriending the caretakers of this place, and uncovering who they were. The story of their relationship will carry you through an emotional landscape of what lies beyond life: attachment, dependence, and letting go.
