Game Description

Waste of Space

The universe didn’t fall apart in a war.
It fell apart in a meeting.

Waste of Space is a space-based card-collector and deck-builder set in a future where interplanetary governance has collapsed into bureaucracy, opportunism, and quiet rebellion. You assemble crews, ships, and equipment from a growing pool of catastrophically unqualified assets, deploy them on missions across the Solar System and beyond, and decide which broken vision of the future survives.

Earth’s ruling authority, the Strategic Mandate for Earth Governance, is failing from the top down. Mars controls the life support. The outer systems are fortifying, hoarding, and drifting away. Beyond Neptune, something new is forming; post-human, patient, and unconcerned with Earth’s relevance.

Every encounter is a battle of attributes, ego, and bad decisions. Cards clash, systems fail, incidents escalate, and nothing ever goes entirely to plan. Victory is measured in acceptable losses. Failure is meticulously logged.

Your choices shape the political endgame:

  • Dismantle Earth’s mandate and break the system entirely

  • Suppress the outer continuity before humanity becomes obsolete

  • Or navigate a fragile coexistence, balancing control, adaptation, and survival

The further you travel, the stranger the universe becomes and the less it cares about where you came from.

Key Features

  • Card collecting and deck-building focused on crews, ships, and equipment

  • Attribute-driven confrontations inspired by classic card face-offs

  • A branching political narrative shaped by faction diplomacy

  • A bleakly comic sci-fi universe where paperwork outlasts civilisation

The universe is vast. Your crew is terrible.

Proceed anyway.
